5K HD

5K HD is an Austrian avant-garde pop band consisting of the four instrumentalists Martin Eberle, Benny Omerzell, Manu Mayr and Andreas Lettner as well as the singer Mira Lu Kovacs (Schmieds Puls).

There were joint performances and collaborations from 2016, initially under the name Kompost 3 feat. Mira Lu Kovacs. With the release of the debut album And to in A (Seayou Records), she renamed the band 5K HD in 2017.\[1\] According to Kovacs, the band name is an allusion to the contrast between a “cold product name”, like smartphones or HD televisions, and the actually “emotional music”. 5K HD had their first appearances with the joint program at the Popfest Vienna and the Saalfelden Jazz Festival, which was followed by the official tour start at the WUK and a tour through Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The album received extremely positive reviews in the music press, but did not chart in the Austrian charts. In 2018 the band was nominated in the Jazz/World/Blues category at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards and for the FM4 Award. And to in A was also one of the albums nominated for the recording studio award for Best Sound.
